Description

Letters patent of William Payn, chaplain, by which he grants to Agnes [de Wyke], abbess of Lacock and the convent a messuage, six bovates of land and four acres of meadow in Lacock formerly of John Salip (Salyb) and Juliana, daughter and heiress of Peter Salip.

Witnesses: John, Lord Lovel, Thomas Hungerford, John Roches and Ralph Cheyne, knights; Thomas Gore; Nicholas Samborne; Thomas Calsdon'; and others.

Dated at Lacock.

Endorsed (on face): The king granted licence for this on 26 June last as per his letters patent.
