Final concord between Lady Joan [de Montfort], abbess of Lacock and the convent there and Roger le Monek of Heddington and Margery, his wife, by which the abbess and convent grant various tenements (details given) which Roger and his mother, Petronilla, held from them previously and which, after his mother's death, Roger surrendered to the abbess and convent. The tenements are to be held for life for an annual render of 10s., saving suit of court at Heddington to the abbess and convent. In return, Roger and Margery shall cause a house to be built in the tenement formerly of Robert le Voude in a suitable place next to the garden of the same tenement, and sustain the same house at their costs for life. Following the deaths of Roger and Margery the tenements will revert to the abbess and convent or their successors. Witnesses: John la Roche; Nicholas le Heyr; William White (le Wite); Roger de Foxangr'; Walter Dawe; and many others. Fragment of seal appended.
