Description

Indenture between Robert Prouse of South Brent, Devon, on the first part and Thomas Hele, of 'Flete Damerell', Devon, Richard Hill of Modbury, Devon, and Robert Preste, son of John Preste of Modbury stating that by indenture dated the 1 December 1582 James Martehwe, Ursula, his wife, and Edmond Marthewe, their son, granted for the term of 99 years to Robert Prouse a tenement and 4 farthings of land called 'Colmore' in North Huish, Devon, with appurtenances, at the yearly rent of £6. Robert Prouse for £135 grants Thomas Hels, Richard Hill and Robert Preste half of the tenement and of the 4 farthings of land, for the remainder of the lease.

Witnesses: Edmond Reynell and Hugh Hele.
