Indenture between Henry Sture of Marridge, Devon and Richard Lawrye of Buckfastleigh, Devon, stating the lease to Richard Lawrye of half of the manor of Staverton with appurtenances. He has paid £15 and shall pay 6 s. and 8 d. per year, for the remainder of a lease of 99 years concerning a moiety of closes and parcels of land by the name of 'Byrches' with appurtenances being part of the manor of Staverton, granted by Simon Haynos, dean of the Cathedral Church of St Peter in Exeter to prince Edward, duke of Somerset etc. of the late king Edward VI, in date 1 October 1548, half of which was inherited by Henry Sture. One damaged seal.
