Indenture between Sir Charles Howard, one of the sons of Thomas Howard, Earl of Suffolk, and Matthew Brodley, of Halifax, Yorkshire, his servant, stating the lease for 21 years of a mansion house called "Fitzeford" with appurtenances, houses, edifices, buildings, barns, orchards, stables, dove-houses, gardens, curtilages, in Tavistock, Devonshire. Matthew Brodley shall pay 1 peppercorn per year and repair and maintain the said mansion house.
Witnesses: Thomas Cutteforde and Thomas Bowen.
Endorsed: memorandum that the indenture was shown in the suit between Matthew Brodley and Mary Howard in the Court of Ward and Liveries on 25 October 1623. Signed Hugh Awdeley.
