Quadripartite indenture of receipt by William Lovelace, serjeant at law, of 40s. paid by Sir Nicholas Bacon according to the provisos of two indentures between Sir Nicholas Bacon and Sir Robert Catlyn, chief justice of King's Bench, Sir James Dyer, chief justice of Common Pleas, Robert Nowell, esquire, deceased, but then attorney of the Court of Wards and Liveries, and William Lovelace, John Blenerhassett, esquire, and James Bacon, now alderman of the city of London, dated 20 and 27 May 1566. [Endorsed] memorandum of the payment. Witnesses: Edward Buggin, Basil Jonesone, Bartholomew Kempe and John Martyn. Signature and seal of William Lovelace
