Description

Grant by William Faber [Smith] of Middlewich to Robert, his son, of half of his lands in Middlewich [Cheshire] (details given). For this, Robert is to pay 12d annually to Ranulph le Roc, a pair of iron spurs or 2d a year to John de la Holt, and a pair of white gloves to his father. If Robert dies without heirs, the lands shall remain to William and Thomas, his brothers, and their heirs. Witnesses: Ralph de Vernon, Richard de Massy, Richard de Sonbache [Sandbach], Richard de Croxton, William de Bolkileg [Bulkeley], Thomas de Wevere [Weaver], Thomas Craket, Robert Saveyer, William de Craunache [Cranage], William son of Thomas, and others.
