Description

Acknowledgment from John de Scolehall, escheator of Cheshire, that, in accordance with an order from Edward, prince of Wales and earl of Chester, he has delivered possession of half of the manor of Cheadle [Cheshire], and the advowson of the church, to William de Bulkelegh [Bulkeley] of Cheadle, following the payment of a fine of £27 3s 3d. The prince has pardoned the trespasses made when Roger de Chedle and his wife, Matilda, alienated the property to Robert de Chedle, and when Robert enfeoffed it back to Roger and Matilda, without his permission. Dated at Chester. Seal of John de Scolehall.
