Description

Release by the escheator in Cheshire, Thomas le Maystresson, of lands held in the king's hand, to Richard le Vernon and Hugh le Mon so that they can be granted to Margery, widow of Richard Bulkyley, during her natural life, according to the will of Richard de Bulkyley, as commanded by letters close from King Richard II, dated at Chester on 6 April 1391 addressed to his escheator in Cheshire, Thomas le Maystresson, since an inquisition before John Leche, former escheator in Cheshire, found Richard de Bulkyley of Cheadle, Cheshire, died seized of half of the town of Cheadle with the advowson of the church, of a plot of land with appurtenances in Hale, and a plot of land in Ashley, and he granted all his other lands to Richard de Vernon and Hugh le Mon, Richard de Vernon and Hugh le Mon granted to Nicholas, brother of Richard de Bulkeley, 20 marks of land with appurtenances in Middlewich, to be held by him during his life, after his death to remain to the right heirs of Richard de Bulkyley. All the other lands and tenements of Richard de Bulkyley should pertain to Margery, widow of Richard Bulkyley, for the term of her life, and are in the king's hand and should be released to Richard le Vernon and Hugh le Mon.
