Copy of an inquisition post mortem taken before John de Scolehall, escheator of Chester on 21 April 1379 for William Bulkeley of Cheadle, who died 1 April 1379 seized of half the manor of Cheadle, with the advowson of the church, with appurtenances, worth annually £24, half of the manor of Timperley, with appurtenances worth £12 annually, half of the manor of [Church] Hulme, worth 100s., lands and tenements in Middlewich, Newton, Petyhall, with appurtenances, worth £20, a watermill in Stanthorne, with half of the profits, worth annually 26s. 8d. His heir, Richard, is 10 years old. The jury further say that Thomas son of John of Bulkylegh of Woolstanwood died 6 April 1379 seized of a messuages and 140 acres of land in Woolstanwood in Nantwich, worth 40s. His son and heir, Thomas, is 14 years old. Ralph de Wetenhale died 15 February 1379, seized of one messuage and 100 acres of land with appurtenances in Cholmondeston, his son and heir, William, is 12 years old. Copy of an inquisition post mortem taken before John Leche, escheator of Chester on 18 January 1391 for Richard Bulkeley of Cheadle, who died 18 November 1390 seized of half of the town of Cheadle, with the advowson of the church and appurtenances, worth annually £20, a piece of land with appurtenances in Hale worth annually 13s. 4d., another piece of land in Ashley, called Barwe, with appurtenances worth 3s. 4d.. Before his death he granted all his other lands to Richard de Vernon and Hugo le Mon with condition that they grant to Nicholas, brother of Richard Bulkeley, 20 marks of land in Middlewich; they granted the other lands to Margery, wife of Richard Bulkeley. When he died his daughters and heirs Alice, Margery and Clementine were underage.
