Indenture tripartite between Arthur Middleton, of Chailey, Suffolk, gentleman, one of the executors of the last will of the late Francis Derehaugh of Gedgrave, Suffolk, esquire, on the first part, John Godbold of Gray's Inn, Middlesex, esquire, another of the executors of the last will of the late Francis Derehaugh, on the second part, and James Derehaugh, of Gedgrave, esquire, brother and heir of the late Francis, on the third part. Francis Derehaugh by an indenture dated 1 October 1615 granted to Arthur Middleton and John Godbold his manor of Gedgrave, and messuages, lands, meadows, pastures, marsh grounds, titles and hereditaments, in Gedgrave, Orford and Sudbourne, Suffolk, for 1, 000 years as payment for a debt, and to secure £600, part of the lands were granted to William Weston of London; by an indenture dated 2 May 1626 he granted the lands to Arthur Middleton and John Godbold for the yearly rent of £48 for 6 years, and to secure £500 pounds, another part of the debt, another part of the lands was granted to John Coggeshall, for 99 years; and by an indenture dated 3 April 1625 he granted the said lands to Arthur Middleton and John Godbold for 5½ years at the yearly rent of £40, and on 26 November 1627 the other parts of the lands were granted to John Ady, for 99 years to secure £800, part of the debt. In this way the executors of the last will of Francis Derehaugh received £200 and £500, and are fully discharged of their duties, being only charged for the payment of several legacies to Mary Martyn, mother of James Derehaugh, John Gardmer and Dorothy Gray. Arthur Middleton and John Godbold demise the under-leases of William Weston and John Coggeshall to James Derehaugh.
