Exemplification of the settlement of a dispute before Sir Edward Coke and others, justices of the King's Bench, between John Cage and Anthony Cage, plaintiffs, and Richard Tomlins (Tomlyns) gent., George Holland gent. and Adam Littleton gent., defendants, concerning the [Shropshire] manors of Great Bromfield (Magna Bromfield), Little Bromfield (Parva Bromfield), Witchcot (Whichcott), Corfton (Corston alias Corveton, alias Corfeton), Great Sutton (Sutton Magna), Lower Hayton (Netherheyton), Caynham (Caynsham alias Snytton) with appurtenances, 80 messuages, 20 tofts, 5 mills, 4 dovecotes, 60 gardens, 2, 000 acres of land, 200 acres of meadow, 2, 000 acres of pasture, 200 acres of woodland, 300 acres of field and heath, 62 shillings of rent in Great Bromfield, Little Bromfield, Witchcott, Lower Hayton, Great Sutton, Little Sutton (Sutton Parva), Corfton, Caynham, Snitton (Snytton), Diddlebury (Didlebury), Bedstone (Bedston), Onibury (Onybury), Aston Munslow (Aston Munslowe), Stretford (Strettford), Stanton Lacy (Staunton Lacy), Staunton Lantony, Cold Weston, Padmore, Ruckley, Langley, Clee St. Margaret, Rock (Rocke), Ludlow (Ludlowe), Whitbatch, The Sheet (Sheete), Bennett's End (Bennettes Yend), Hollyns, Thursley, Gorsley, Hope Bagot (Hope Begger), Clayfelton (Cleyfelton), Rye Felton (Ryfelton), Burway and Priors Halton (Haulton Pryors), as well as free warren and view of frankpledge with appurtenances in Great Bromfield, Great Sutton and Stanton Lacy, together with the rectory of Great Bromfield, with appurtenances and all tithes in Great Bromfield, Little Bromfield, Halford, Dinchope (Dynchopp), Lady Haughton, Hill Haughton, Culmington (Culmyngton) and Aldon (Auldon), as well as the advowson of the vicarage of Great Bromfield, and a moiety of one messuage, 30 acres of land, 10 acres of meadow and 40 acres of pasture, with appurtenances, in Langley, into which Richard, George and Adam had no entry after the disseisin that Hugh Hunt unjustly made against John and Anthony within the past thirty years. Richard, George and Adam called Sir Charles Foxe and Richard Foxe esq. to warrant their claim, who themselves called Edward Howse. Howse having defaulted and been amerced, John and Anthony Cage had recovery of their seisin of their possessions. The sheriff, Bonham Norton esq., returned that he had delivered seisin on 1 February.
