Description

Grant by John de la Lay to Adam son of Matthew and Alice, his wife, of 1 toft and croft and 4 acres of land in Ancroft (Anecroft), Durham, which Ralph Fraward once held. Boundaries given, in exchange for a piece of land called Gilians. They will give him a pair of white gloves yearly. Alice will bring the corn from the land to John's mill.

Witnesses: Sir Philip de Colville, Henry de Berrigdona, Peter de Hord, Nicholas de Hord, William of Scremerston, Robert of Goswick (Gosewyke), Nicholas de Allerdene and many others. Armorial seal of John de la Lay, attached.
