Indenture recording the sale by Erasmus Cooke, vicar of the church of St Michael, in St Albans, Hertfordshire, to Roger Marshe, of Aldenham, Hertfordshire, for £665, of a mansion house called Colney Chapel in the parish of Shenley and St Peter in the towns of St Albans and Ridge, Hertfordshire, with all its rights and appurtenances, messuages, tofts, cottages, edifices, buildings, barns, stables, orchades, gardens, lands, tenements, meadows, feedings, common pastures, woods, underwoods, marshes, waters, piscaries, heaths, rents, revenues, services, franchises, jurisdictions, profits, commodities and hereditaments. With reservation of one meadow containing 9 acres of land, called Somerridge, occupied by Henry Hulle, the lease made by Anthony Baron to John Binge for 70 years at the yearly rent of £13 6s 8d and another lease made by Erasmus Cooke to Richard Cathlyne for 3 years at the yearly rent of £43.
