Description

Indenture tripartite between Francis Wye, of South Cerney, Gloucestershire, on one part, John Style of Little Missenden, Buckinghamshire, on the second part and Robert Calcof of Byfield, Northampton, on the third part, stating that the messuages, lands, tenements, meadows, pastures, common feedings, woods, underwoods, rents, revenues, services, hereditaments, premises and all their appurtenances, concerning the manor belonging to Francis Wye in Gloucestershire, in the towns of South Cerney, Cerney Wick, Barnsley and Minty, after his death shall remain in limited use of his heirs or the heirs of his godson, Francis Wye, son of Anthony Wye, his brother, or in absence of his heirs, in use of the heirs of Robert Wye, son of Giles Wye, or to the male heirs of one of his brothers, William or John Wye, or in absence of their heirs in use of the heirs of Richard Wye, son of William Wye, deceased, or in absence of his heirs in use of the heirs of Thomas Wye, or in use of Charles Wye, second son of Anthony Wye, or in use of the heirs of Anthony Wye, eldest son of Anthony Wye, deceased, or in absence of his heirs in use of Giles Grevell junior and his heirs. To nullify or change the tenor of the indenture Francis Wye has to pay 5s to Robert Calcof and John Style.

Witnesses: William Baldwin, Edward Brokell, William Rysley, William Denton and John Phyllypes.

[Endorsed] Memorandum of the payment in date 14 May 1591 by Francis Wye to John Style, according to the deed expressed in the indenture. Signed by John Style.

Witnesses: Hermes Walvond, John Harburne, Charles Morgan, Emmanuel Waller and George Whitton.

Signatures and seals of John Style and Robert Calcof, attached. The other parts of the indenture are WARD 2/11/38/3 and WARD 2/11/38/5
