Grant by Thomas [Pentecost alias Rowland], abbot of the monastery of Abingdon, Berkshire (now Oxfordshire), and the convent there to John Wellsburn, gentleman, of the privy chamber of Henry VIII, for his 'good and useful counsel' of an annuity of 100s. for the term of his life, with power of distraint of the abbey's manor of Shellingford, Berkshire. Dated at the abbey. Marginal notation that this was?enrolled and extracted in the presence of William Cavendish, auditor.
