Description

Final draft indenture between Sir Warham St Leger [Seintleger] of Ulcombe, Kent, on the one part, and Sir Thomas Smith of Bidborough [Bidborrow], Sir Richard Smith of Leeds castle, Sir Dudley Digges of Chillam, and Sir Anthony Seintleger of Ulcombe, Kent, on the other part. Warham St Leger is about to depart on a voyage overseas and has spent diverse sums of money in preparation of his voyage. Among which he received £700 from Smith and £800 from his brother Anthony St Leger. In order to discharge the loan he has agreed by this indenture various covenants and sales of lands including Westhall in Staplehurst and of Slayhill Diggs, Marsh and Breville in Halstow and Upchurch, Kent. Unsigned and unsealed, no witnesses.
