Whereas Henry VIII on 13 March 1539 granted to Sir Humphrey Foster, for £500, the site of the monastery of Grace Dieu in Leicestershire, with all [named] buildings, houses, granges, messuages, lands, meadows, pastures, woods, rents, reversions, etc, there appertaining in the parish of Belton, Leicestershire, and also of all messuages, lands, etc in Osgathorpe and Thringstone, Leicestershire appertaining to the monastery, and other lands and tenements named. Foster now grants for £460 the aforesaid late priory and lands to John Beaumont of Wellsborough, Leicestershire, esquire, and Elizabeth his wife, to be held as in the original grant to Foster, for a quarter of a knight's fee paid per year at the Court of Augmentations. Forster appoints Edward Beaumont, brother of John Beaumont and Nicholas Burwey as his attorneys.
