Coronations: five portfolios of drawings, originally in a bound volume, cloth and leather, entitled 'Coronation of His Majesty George IV, 19th July, 1821'. Plans sections and elevations. This comprises some 50 original drawings of Westminster Abbey as fitted for the coronation of George IV, plus acopy of the Observer supplement of 22 July 1821; and also some drawings relating to the coronations and other ceremonies of James II, George II and George III, dated 1685, 1727, 1761 and 1789. The majority of the drawings are stamped on the back 'Office of His Majesty's Works and Public Buildings'. Originally 49 items were listed; as a result of conservation work in 2000 the items were renumbered, and there are now72 items. The original item number is given as Former Departmental Reference.
