A note at the front of the volume states that it includes staff transferred from the Chester and Holyhead Railway 1 January 1859 and from the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway 8 August 1859. Details are recorded, however for staff members who appear to have joined after 1859.
Gives details of date of appointment, name, occupation, rate of wages per week, remarks including dates and information on where the staff member came from/went to or whether they resigned or were dismissed.
