Departments listed include, Engineering (including engineers, architects, accountants, draughtsmen, inspectors), permanent way (including engineers, architects, accountants, draughtsmen, inspectors, tracer, surveyors), signal, estate and land agency (including collectors, clerks, surveyors, draughtsman), telegraph, telegraph maintenance, locomotive (including superintendent, accountant, store keeper, foreman), carriage (including clerks, foreman), wagon (including superintendent, foreman, accountants, store keepers, time keeper), steam boat, stores, oil and grease, general managers, secretary's, transfer (including clerks, messengers), cashier's, audit, chief accountants, expenditure, solicitors, rates and taxes, medical, canal navigation, superannuation, hotel, refreshment room, insurance and provident societies and pensions fund, church and school, and laundry.
Gives some or all of the following: name, capacity, date of birth, date of entry into service, annual rate, date and where transferred from or to, or date of leaving, giving reasons for departure from service.
