Description

County: Lincolnshire Grant description and date: hearth tax granted by Parliament 1662 May 19 Document description: Commissions, schedules of arrears and instruction to collectors for the first, second, third and fourth collections, bundle of 13 mems.

Includes names of individuals Relates to Anthony Gilby and William Broxholme, appointed receivers of the hearth tax in Lincolnshire and Kingston upon Hull in 1664, and their collection of the arrears outstanding from the sheriffs' period of collection (Michaelmas 1662 - Lady Day 1664). The schedules of arrears which were stored with the sheriffs' particulars of account, and which are duplicates of some of the documents in this bundle, are in E 179/371/3-6.
