Hearth Tax exemption certificates for Surrey. 340 items comprising 316 certificates, one original canvas bag, one original paper wrapper, one modern paper marker and one paper fragment. Described and dated at item level. As well as the certificates from the canvas bag at item 1, 28 certificates come from a canvas bag still in E 179/188/494: they are dated between 19 February 1672 and 2 November 1673, and are noted as having come from this bag. Hearth Tax exemption certificates for Sussex previously part of this piece have been transferred to E 179/191/424
