Grant description and date: hearth tax granted by Parliament 1662 May 19.
Document description: Writs, schedule of payments, schedules of arrears, instructions to collectors and commissioners' certificate, file of 33 mems. Includes names of individuals. Documents detailing the results of an investigation conducted by Joshua Greathead, receiver general of the Hearth Tax in the city of York and the West Riding of Yorkshire, into arrears outstanding from the first four collections of this tax. Membrane 2 appears to be a stray, and probably once formed the first rotulet of the large hearth tax assessment for the West Riding now in E 179/210/393.
