Description

Films. This file contains documents relating to the planning of film distribution in the liberated territories. It includes: notes on film requirements for Holland, Belgium and Northern France; propaganda plans for South East Europe and Austria; a plan for the organisation of the Films Division's European Section; reports from the Political Warefare Executive (PWE), Ministry of Information (MOI) and the BBC Joint Reoccupation Committee; and correspondence regarding the role of the British Council. The file also contains papers on: immediate post-invasion propaganda in Europe; The main psychological factors in liberated Europe which those in charge of film preparations will have to bear in mind in planning films (March 1943); and the production of films for liberated and enemy territories in Europe. It also includes letters relating to film distribution in liberated Europe concerning films in France and collaboration between the Ministry of Information and the Political Warfare Executive.
