Westminster. Perspective sketch showing the south elevation of Sessions House (now Middlesex Guildhall) with the blocks of buildings ('Plot East' and 'Plot West') adjoining it on either side; the drawing also shows crowds of people waiting for a procession coming towards Broad Sanctuary. Scale: 1 inch to about 17 feet. Two notes state: 'This sketch serves to show the relative height of the proposed new buildings, both east and west, as they may affect, or be compared with the Sessions House', and: 'Public shews, being a consideration for which upwards of £6,000 was allowed in the valuation of the former houses: some provision is therefore suggested in these new buildings, by balconies, balustrades, etc. A hint is also given for temporary stages for such occasions'. ORDER THIS DOCUMENT AS WORK 30/462.
