Portrait of Mary, dowager Queen of France, and her husband Charles Brandon, Duke of Suffolk, depicted as quarter-length figures in an architectural framework with sceptre and crown on one side and tilting lance and spear on the other. Inscribed 'Her Royal Grace the Queen of France sister of King Henry VIII married to Lewis XII [Louis XII] the French King afterwards to the Duke of Suffolk'. At the bottom is written 'Inscribed to the Rt. Hon. John Lord Carteret Earl of Granville, from an original in his possession, by his most humble and most obedient servant G. Vertue'.
