Description

No. 3077 [part].

Captured ship: Jonkvrouw Maria, master and owner Michiel Jansen of Copenhagen.

History: a Danish ship bound under Dutch colours from Curaçao on 5 March 1803 via Cape St Nicholas Mole, St Domingue to Rotterdam, laden with wine (from Madeira), coffee and hides; taken on 6 June 1803 at 49.39, 10.12, by the Mars a Liverpool privateer and slaver (Robert White commanding), but also boarded the next day by HMS Gannet (Edward Bass commanding) and brought into Falmouth.

Documents:-

  • Mail in transit, with packets and envelopes numbered 151-520, and within each number, a, b c etc. The letters are from Curaçao, mostly to the Netherlands.
