Captured ship: Jonkvrouw Maria, master and owner Michiel Jansen of Copenhagen.
History: a Danish ship bound under Dutch colours from Curaçao on 5 March 1803 via Cape St Nicholas Mole, St Domingue to Rotterdam, laden with wine (from Madeira), coffee and hides; taken on 6 June 1803 at 49.39, 10.12, by the Mars a Liverpool privateer and slaver (Robert White commanding), but also boarded the next day by HMS Gannet (Edward Bass commanding) and brought into Falmouth.
Documents: Mail in transit, with packets and envelopes numbered 1-520, and within each number, a, b c etc.
Letters no 1-150:-.
Letters addressed to the House of Messrs H J Coster & Co of Amsterdam were placed together by the court for examination, but have now been replaced in the numerical sequence: these were 80, 81, 81a, 89, 89s, 89b, 185, 185a, 185p, 185r, 202, 202a-202d, 211a, 397.
