This record is about the Seven packets of formal plantation accounts from Surinam (fair copies and duplicates,... dating from 1799-1800 in the series High Court of Admiralty: Prize Court: Prize Papers. It is held at The National Archives, Kew.
Seven packets of formal plantation accounts from Surinam (fair copies and duplicates, in gold and silver paper covers) for 1798-1800, adddressed to Amsterdam, Haarlem, and the Hague.
There is no obvious indication as to which ship these packets came from, but it may have been De Vigilantie (master Gijsbert Moelaert), a Dutch merchant ship, bound from Surinam to Flushing; taken on 30 June 1803 in latitude 43°38'N, longitude 30°W by the privateer Lancaster of Liverpool (John Pettigrew commanding), and brought into Liverpool; or perhaps the Nieuw Ephrata (master Jan Engelman) taken on 4 June 1803.
