Papers of the French east indiaman Le Ferme, bound from Pondicherry to Lorient under command of Captain Darthiague. Many relate to her cargo, which includes cotton, fabrics, saltpetre, spices, handkerchiefs etc. Many of the items are accompanied by merchants' marks. Others are private correspondence and remain mostly unopened, with seals unbroken. Le Ferme sailed from Pondicherry in early March 1778 and was at the Cape in June and July of that year.
