Description

Ship's name: Diamant. Captain: Clark.

This piece contains three main groups of documents:

  • Correspondence in French, predominantly from New York to France, 1793.
  • School books in French, c1792, belonging to Ménage Dûval, american. These include a book of fables; the script of a play titled The Philospher and Marie; books of arithmetic and verse, and books of letters sent by Duval.
  • A small number of Dutch papers relating to Batavia and Guinea, 1802.
