One bundle of letters addressed to the Provincial and other senior members of the religious order of Charity in Paris, concerning staffing problems and incorrect behaviour at the Hospital of Charity on the island of St Domingue. Includes the death certificate of Pierre Le Roux, the hospital's surgeon, 18 August 1778.
One bundle of letters from St Domingue dated September 1778 addressed to government officials in Paris, including the Prince de Montbarey, minister for war.
