Type of voyage: Part of the Spanish Fleet under the command of General Don Manuel de Belasco Tejada (Velasco y Tejada).

Particulars:

[Santa Cruz]: Merchant and private correspondence including:

  • Papers of Captain Juan Matheos Yanez (Yañez), of Sanlucar de Barrameda.
  • Bills of payment.
  • Pharmacy stock lists.
  • Depositions by Spanish Franciscan missionaries regarding the 1696 events in a Reduction of infidel Indians in the region of Mérida de Yucatán.

De Goede Hoop: Merchant and private correspondence of Sephardic Jews sent from Amsterdam to Sallee (Salé, Morocco).

It appears that the correspondence in this box was taken from different galleons by Captain Thomas Dilkes after the Battle of Vigo (Battle of Rande), as indicated in HCA 30/231.
