The camouflage Sub-Committee of the Committee of Imperial Defence was appointed in 1936 to consider general questions of camouflage and served by a research unit established at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, it continued to meet until January 1939 when it issued its final report. The Sub-Committee also prepared a paper later published by the Home Office as ARP Handbook No 11 'Camouflage of large installations'.
