File includes 17 photographs of German defences along Atlantic sea wall, France, most damaged by aerial and artillery bombardment. Photographs, taken by A F Huxley, are described below.
1) Plate 1. 'Casement type A at Courseulles.'
2) Plate 2. 'Casement type A under construction; Mont Fleury. Outer and inner walls of pre-cast concrete blocks; re-inforcement for walls in position. Note roof girders.'
3) Plate 3. 'Casement type A under construction; Mont Fleury. Pre-cast walls partly built. Only floor re-inforcement in position.'
4) Plate 4. 'Casement type A under construction; Mont Fleury. Note floor re-inforcement.'
5) Plate 5. 'Casement type B; Ouistreham. Note steel roof.'
6) Plate 6. Casement type B; Ouistreham. Steel roof not yet fitted.'
7) Plate 7. 'Casement type C at Longues. Embrasure.'
8) Plate 8. 'Same casement as above. Entrance at rear.'
9) Plate 9. 'Another casement at Longues. Note debris from surrounding craters.'
10) Plate 10. 'A third casement at Longues showing fragment marks from 1000lb bomb which exploded alongside the east wall. A second 1000lb bomb crater can be seen in front of the embrasure.'
