The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) is an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport. It was established on 1 April 1990, becoming an agency in 1993. The VCA is the UK's national approval authority for new road vehicles, agricultural tractors and off-road vehicles, responsible for ensuring that vehicles and vehicle parts have been designed and constructed to meet iinternationally agreed standards of safety and safety protection.
