This file was originally catalogued under more than one subject heading. These headings and details of this file, are as follows:

CRIMNAL: SMITH, James; COURT: Central Criminal; OFFENCE: Gross Indecency with Male person; SENTENCE: 2 years Hard Labour;

PRISONS AND PRISONERS (4) OTHER: Penal Servitude for life case. Licensed to care of Salvation Army. Because of bad conduct, licence was later revoked and prisoner removed to prison.
