Folios 3-5: John Hoskins, aged 18, ordinary seaman; case number 2; disease or hurt, bronchitis. Put on sick list, 6 August 1873 at Cadiz. Discharged 7 September 1873 to duty.

Folio 20: Edward Lucks, aged 19, ordinary seaman; case number 12; disease or hurt, syphilis. Put on sick list, 15 November 1873 at Gibraltar. Discharged 18 November 1873 to Gibraltar Naval Hospital for further treatment.

Folios 22-23: George Nugent, aged 52, armourer’s crew; case number 14; disease or hurt, morbus cordis. Put on sick list, 20 November 1873 at Cartagena. Invalided 24 November 1873 at Cartagena and discharged the same day to HMS Aurora for passage to England.
Folios 24-25: Thomas Boden, aged 41, able seaman; case number 15; disease or hurt, paralysis. Put on sick list, 26 December 1873 at Porman. Sent to Gibraltar hospital in HMS Helicon from Porman on 27 December 1873.
Folio 26: Richard Spraggs, aged 19, ordinary seaman; case number 16; disease or hurt, eczema. Put on sick list, 8 December 1873 at Porman. Sent to Gibraltar on 27 December 1873.
Folios 27-28: George W. Gubbins, aged 19, midshipman; case number 17; disease or hurt, wound. Put on sick list, 2 November 1873 at Cartagena. Now convalescent and will shortly resume his duty.
Folios 29-30: Dennis Bryan, aged 22, sailmaker’s crew; case number 18; disease or hurt, fracture. Put on sick list, 18 November 1873 at Gibraltar. On 9 December 1873 the fracture was found to be united. He was very lame for some time after this but finally resumed his duty as a sail maker.
Folio 31: William Pearton, aged 22; case number 19; disease or hurt, enteric fever. Put on sick list, 25 November 1873 at Cartagena. Discharged [?]. Folio 32: Table 1: showing the movements of the ship during the period of this journal.
