ADM 101/104/4
1815-1817
Medical and surgical journal of His Majesty's ship Horatio for 6 March 1815 to 18 January 1817 by Simon Davidson, Surgeon, during which time the said ship was employed in a voyage to China and India. The journal is in the form of a diary, with roughly monthly entries, interspersed with some individual case notes. There is a great deal of sickness but very few patients are mentioned by name, the diary entries giving numbers of men sick. From November 1815 it is almost exclusively in diary form. The whole of 1816 is covered in 4 folios, including 3 blank pages. (Described at item level).
