Description

Medical journal of the James Pattison emigrant ship from 25 October 1839 to 11 February 1840 by G Roberts, surgeon and superintendent, during which time the ship was employed in conveying emigrant to Sydney, New South Wales.

Folios 1-3: case no 1, Mrs Wells, aged 26, emigrant; taken ill at sea; sick or hurt, hepatitis, of a delicate habit of body, shortly after being on board complained of acute pain in the right hypochondrial region extending up to the clavicle and shoulder of the side affected; put on sick list 17 November 1839, discharged 10 January 1840 convalescent.
