Medical and surgical journal of Her Majesty's convict ship Susan between 4 April 1842 and 6 August 1842 by George T Moxey, Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the said ship was conveying prisoners from England to Van Diemen's Land.

Folios 6-9: John Wilmot, aged 51, convict; case number 1; disease, scrophulous and scorbutics. Put on sick list, 15 April 1842. Discharged to Colonial Hospital, Hobart Town, 26 July 1842.
Folios 10-13: George Wilmot, aged 47, convict; case number 2; disease, erysipelas. Put on sick list, 29 April 1842. Discharged to Colonial Hospital, Hobart Town, 31 July 1842.
Folios 13-18: Eli Butt, aged 37, convict; case number 3; disease, erysipelas phlegmonades. Put on sick list, 4 June 1842. Discharged to Colonial Hospital, Hobart Town, 31 July 1842.

Folios 29-32: Surgeon's general remarks. The barque Susan sailed from Plymouth on 24 April 1842 with 299 male convicts for Hobart Town in Van Diemen's Land. 20 were received at Deptford, 100 from the hulks off Woolwich and the remaining number came on board at Plymouth. Those embarked in the Thames appeared in better health and condition and they kept more free from disease.
