Description

Medical and surgical journal of His Majesty’s convict ship Edward for 23 August 1830 to 14 March 1831 by Thomas Bell, Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the said ship was employed in a passage to New South Wales.

Folios 1-2: Joseph Stephens, aged 46; case number 1; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 16 November 1830. Discharged 28 November 1830.

Folios 2-5: Thomas Moore, aged 52; case number 2; disease or hurt, dysentery. Put on sick list, 4 November 1830. Died 14 November 1830.

Folios 5-6: B. Carroll, aged 52; case number 3; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 11 November 1830. Discharged 29 November 1830.

Folios 6-7: John Irwine, aged 62; case number 4; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 25 November 1830. Discharged 16 December 1830.

Folios 7-8: Pat Carroll, aged 46; case number 5; disease or hurt, cholera. Put on sick list, 11 December 1830. Died 11 December 1830.

Folios 8-9: P. Kilroy, aged 53; case number 6; disease or hurt, colica. Put on sick list, 11 December 1830. Died 11 December 1830.

Folios 9-10: Charles McLaughlan, aged 47; case number 7; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 1 January 1831. Discharged 9 January 1831.

Folios 10-11: John O’Niel, aged 37; case number 8; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 7 January 1831. Discharged 20 January 1831.

Folios 11-12: H. O’Brian, aged 47; case number 9; disease or hurt, fever. Put on sick list, 7 January 1831. Discharged 15 January 1831.
