RAF Levies: Armoured Car Section, Aden formed as D Flight 8 Squadron, Khormaksar 13 January 1928; separated 29 January 1929; moved to Berbera, Somaliland 17 March 1941, locations include Hargeisha, Burao, Domo, Dunkocok, Gerrowey, Gardo, Laz Dava, Bundar Cassim, Scushiuban, Hordio, Bargal; returned to Khormaksar 28 June 1941; moved to Little Aden 8 January 1943; Little Aden renamed Hiswa 5 April 1943; moved to Khormaksar 1 June 1943; moved to Hiswa 20 April 1944; moved to Jabir 23 October 1944; includes three photographs of visit by A.O.C. British Forces, Aden 14 April 1945; and two photographs of armoured cars and crews on parade at Khormaksar 2 September 1946; [became 4001 Armoured Car Flight, Aden, RAF Regiment 3 October 1946].
