RAF Levies: Armoured Car Wing, Hinaidi, Iraq, formed 1 April 1927 with HQ and 2, 3, 4, 5 Sections, 8 Section at Mosul, 1 Section at Basra, 6, 7 Sections at Kirkuk; 7 Section disbanded June 1927; became 1 Armoured Car Company 1 April 1930, with HQ, 2, 3 Sections at Hinaidi, 1 Section at Mosul, 4 Section at Basrah; 1 Section moved to Dhibban by 1 January 1937; 4 Section moved to Shaibah by 1 January 1937; HQ, 2, 3 Sections moved to Dhibban 21 December 1937; Dhibban renamed Habbaniya 1 May 1938; sections also at Mosul, Ain Zala, Quiyara; 1 A.C.C. Detachment formed October 1941, moved to Western Desert; various locations including Helwan, Egypt; LG 109; LG 110; LG 122; LG 123; LG 124; El Adam; El Michili; Zt Msus, Libya; Antelat; Gazala; Gambut; Amiriya; LG 224; Kilo 17; LG 91; Mersa-el-Brega; Sirti; Tamet; Bir-Dufan; Castel Benito; Sabratha; Zoura; El Assa; Medenin; Tathun; Gabes, Tunisia; Sfax; Sousse; Bourdjine; Crispi; Aggedabia; Benghasi; Derna; Benina; Detachment ceases December 1943; HQ moved to Mosul December 1943; moved to Habbaniya 1 October 1945; incorporated in RAF Regiment as 2701 Squadron, 3 October 1946. 4 Section, 1 Armoured Car Company, Shaibah; returned to Habbaniya 5 July 1941
