Enclosure award and map of Parkhurst Forest, Hampshire (Isle of Wight). Authenticated duplicate of enclosure award, dated 13 June 1815, pursuant to Act 52 Geo III, c clxxi. Map covers the enclosed area only (2500 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows woods, post-enclosure field acreages, gates, footpaths or bridleways, signal station (with pennant), barracks, burial ground, orphan asylum, rights of way, dated and named boundary stones, parish boundary, some named landowners. Includes compass decorated with oak leaves and a north point decorated with an acorn. Scale: 1 inch to 10 chains. Surveyed by Richard Nightingale of Lyndhurst, and James Clark of Newport (Isle of Wight), 1815. Award and map comprise 26 membranes; map is on penultimate membrane
