(2) Plan of Thames Embankment, showing embankment off Whitehall Place. Scale: 1 inch to 40 feet. Compass indicator. [By] Arthur Coates, Whitehall Yard. A note signed by Charles Gore, 8 March 1872, states that this is the plan referred to in the Bill to authorise acquisition by Metropolitan Board of Works of land reclaimed from River Thames in pursuance of the Thames Embankment Bill, 1862.
