(1) 'Traced from a Plan of the City and Borough of Carlisle as divided into Wards under the Act for the Regulation of Municipal Corporations, 5 & 6 William IV, chapter 76'. Compass indicator. Signed Francis Maude and Richard Atkinson, barristers appointed as boundary commissioners. ?Originally to accompany their report of 16 October 1835. (2) Plan showing the Parish of St. Mary, with surrounding parish and ward boundaries in Carlisle area and 2 further plans on same sheet detailing the 'detached' portions of St. Marys Parish. Note in pencil: 'on Sheet 38 done 29 March 1862'. Reference table to boundaries on both sheets. No scale shown on either sheet. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 42 cm x 75 cm; (2) 39 cm x 29 cm.
