Insets show the Dardanelles Strait; the Bosphorus; 'Kemeris'; 'Pasha Harbour'; and 'Artaki Bay', all in the Ottoman Empire (now Turkey). Reference notes on navigation. Compass roses. Taken from the chart published at the Depôt de la Marine 1826. Corrections by Capt E Lyons RN and others 1830-1831. Engraved by J & C Walker. Published at the Hydrographic Office, Admiralty, 17 June 1833. Originally filed with a copy of despatch no 298 dated 24 November 1849 from Viscount Palmerston to Sir Stratford Canning. MS additions illustrate the entrance of Sir William Parker's squadron into the Dardanelles.
