2 items extracted from HO 45/9360/32192. Lancashire. (1) 'Plan shewing Situation of New Sinking Shaft at Windle Colliery nr. St. Helens and abandoned for a short time in January 1874.' Shows cottages, workshops, offices, shafts, roads, Boardman's Farm. Scale: 1 inch to 32 yards. Compass indicator. (2) Covering letter from John Middlehurst, inspector of mines, to the Home Office, 19 March 1874.
